An aerial view of McMurdo Station. Building 140 contains the Movement Control Center where all passengers and cargo transfer through. It also contains the post office. Building 155 holds the cafeteria, station store, the ATM machine, some offices and dorm rooms. Building 165 houses weather forecasters, air traffic control personnel, and the communications center. Building 156 is the Air National Guard's supply warehouse. On the left side of the photo, Dorm 209 is one of 11 dorms in McMurdo. The water plant uses sea water and reverse osmosis to provide the community with fresh drinking water. On the right side of the photo is the Facilities, Engineering and Construction (FEMC) building. The Crary Lab is a 46,500 square foot building with five sections, each designed to facilitate research in a different area of the earth sciences and engineering. There is another identical photo in this Photo Library that does not have any buildings labeled.
