Amundsen-Scott South Pole construction works fix a steel beam to a frame on the new elevated station, due for completion in 2007. Work is done around the clock during the 24 hours of sunlight during the austral summer, late October through mid-February. Exterior construction is done during the summer. Interior work is done during the winter.
