A bulldozer moves gravel around an area called Grays Chute on the hills above McMurdo Station. The gravel from the chute is used to maintain the station’s dirt roads and as a base for construction. Heavy machinery like this is a common sight around the station as the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernization for Science (AIMS) construction project begins.
