U.S. Navy Seabee Chuck Alletto stands in front of a newly constructed building at what is now known as Old Palmer Station. The Navy's Mobile Construction Battalion Six built the U.S. stations in Antarctica in the 1950s and 1960s. This facility was constructed in 1964-1965. The current Palmer Station was constructed in 1968.
