The seal team is focusing on crabeater seal ecology to examine how seals may be affect by climate-induced match-mismatch interactions with their prey. The team collects samples, including blood samples, biopsies, ultrasounds, size and weight measurements, to understand their physiological state in relation to krill and the average sea ice availability.
