Inside Discovery Hut, facing south. The main entrance is the bright doorway at right.

This prefabricated hut, erected in 1902 by British explorer Robert Scott's National Antarctic Expedition, was originally used as a warehouse. Today, visitors will find various items left by subsequent expeditions that used the hut as a refuge when conditions did not permit further travel.

All the Heroic Era huts in the Ross Sea region are maintained by the New Zealand Antarctic Heritage Trust.
