A hut with solar panels and wind turbines houses controllers, a computer, and power system for an antenna in the Joubin Islands, Antarctic Peninsula. Josh Kohut (Rutgers University), and Peter Winsor and Hank Statschewich (University of Alaska, Fairbanks) and their team have installed antennae in the region that will map the Palmer Deep ocean surface currents in unprecedented detail off the Antarctic Peninsula. This data will help them understand the linkages between physical ocean processes and the polar food web. Visit the CONVERGE project website for more information.
