Chief Parachute Rigger Jerome Jones, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, making a quarterly qualification parachute jump at McMurdo Station. Jones is a member of the Deep Freeze Para-Rescue Team, a group of skilled sky jumpers that are trained to go to the aid of downed aircraft or scientific field parties in trouble on the white continent. Members of the team accompany all search and rescue missions in case their skills are needed.
