This is a 1959 view of Mount Gran and the Mackay Glacier.

Mount Gan, 7,333 feet above sea level, was named for Tryggve Gran, Norwegian naval officer who was a ski expert with the British Antarctic Expedition (BrAE) (1910-13).
The Mackay Glacier descends eastward from the polar plateau. It is located between the Convoy and Clare Ranges, and flows into into the southern part of Granite Harbor. The glacier was discovered by the South Magnetic Pole Party of the British Antarctic Expedition (BrAE) (1907-09) and named for Alistair F. Mackay, a member of the party.
