Colorado State University graduate student, Ashley Shaw works in the in the Albert P. Crary Science and Engineering Center at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Shaw is identifying and counting soil nematodes from Taylor Valley, Antarctica, for the McMurdo Dry Valleys Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) grant. Nematodes and other microfauna are the only animals in this extreme terrestrial ecosystem. To learn more about the McMurdo LTER project, visit www.mcmlter.org.
