Emperor penguins are the largest of all penguins, reaching three to four feet in height and 60 - 80 pounds. With no fear of humans, they will curiously approach people. The Antarctic Conservation Act, which is U.S. law, prohibits people from touching any wildlife without a permit to do so. When U.S. Antarctic Program participants do see wildlife, they can sit quietly to observe the animals.
