The South Pole Traverse reaches the outskirts of Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, just passing the MARISAT radar building. The Traverse traveled 1,600 km (1,000 miles) over 43 days, hauling 100,000 kg (250,000 lbs) of cargo from McMurdo Station to the South Pole.
