Joe Yarkin adjusts the fittings on a solar panel on top of a mountainside shelter located at about 11,000 feet on the flanks of Mount Erebus. A set of six panels and a wind generator will replace much of the power currently supplied by a fuel generator. Mount Erebus is the southernmost active volcano in the world.
